State Governor
Our Governor is the chief executive of the state, responsible for setting statewide priorities and ensuring laws are carried out effectively. The Governor proposes the state budget, signs or vetoes legislation, and oversees state agencies. This role represents the state in national and regional matters and responds to emergencies to protect public safety and economic stability.
State Assemblyman
Your State Assemblyman represents a district in the state legislature and writes, debates, and votes on state laws. They advocate for our local needs in Albany, including education funding, infrastructure, and healthcare. Assembly members also help constituents navigate state services and resolve issues with state agencies.
County Legislator
A County Legislator sets county-level policy, passes local laws, and approves the county budget. This role oversees services such as public health, social services, transportation, and environmental protection. Our County legislator acts as a bridge between local towns and county government, ensuring community needs are reflected in county decisions.
County Sheriff
Our County Sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer for the county, responsible for public safety and enforcement of the law. The Sheriff oversees county patrols, correctional facilities, and court security. This role also coordinates emergency response and works with local, state, and federal agencies to keep communities safe.
Town Supervisor
Your Town Supervisor serves as the town’s chief executive and chief financial officer. They prepare the town budget, oversee day-to-day operations, and implement policies set by the Town Council. The Supervisor represents the town in intergovernmental matters and works to balance services, taxes, and long-term planning.
Town Councilman
A Town Councilman is a member of the town’s legislative body and helps set local laws, policies, and the town budget. Council members vote on contracts, zoning, and major projects that affect daily life. They represent residents’ concerns and ensure transparency and accountability in town government.
Town Justice
Our Town Justice presides over the local town court and handles cases such as traffic violations, small claims, and certain criminal matters. This role ensures fair and impartial application of the law at the local level. Town Justices play a key role in maintaining access to justice within the community.
Town Trustee
Your Town Trustees manage and protect public trust lands, waterways, and coastal resources on behalf of residents. They oversee public access, environmental stewardship, and sustainable use of these shared assets. This role helps preserve our natural resources while balancing recreation, conservation, and community interests.
